We believe the ministry of Jesus was intentional, to love and challenge people to reach out and make an impact. Our heart is to love our community back to life.
Because that's what Jesus did, literally. (John 11:1-44)
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, John 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, 1 Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13
Given at Pentecost, the baptism in the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father. He was sent by Jesus, after His ascension, to empower the Church to preach the gospel throughout the whole earth.
Joel 2:28-29, Matthew 3:11, Mark 16:17, Acts 1:5, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:17, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 8:14-17, Acts 10:38, Acts 10:44-47, Acts 11:15-17, Acts 19:1-6
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.
2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Timothy 1:13, 2 Peter 20-21, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called sin, and need God’s salvation. Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our life.
Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:1-2
Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ, as God’s offer of forgiveness, can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled lives and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, John 1:2, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1, Romans 10:9-10
We were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
John 3:16, John 14:17, Romans 6:23, Romans 8:17-18, Revelation 20:15, 1 Corinthians 2:7-9
Pastors Dean and Jane met at Church on the Rock, in Corpus Christi, TX in 1994. They have 2 sons, Matthew & Grayson. Pastor Dean and Jane started Journey Church in July 2007, after seeking the counsel of God and spending time in prayer with a small group of fellow believers in their home.
Pastor Dean graduated from Calallen High School, in Corpus Christi, Tx., as well as two years at South Texas State University. He has always been a small town boy and carries a love and commitment for the local community each of our campuses represent. He has a heart to advance and equip the surrounding communities through practical and bible based teachings. He is known for his vulnerability and transparency. Because, like he says, "Pastors are real people, with real issues." Pastor Dean is bi-vocational and is the President of Bearden Homes Inc.
Pastor Jane traveled and sang with her family for 25 years, they were known as the Cruse Family. They became popular throughout much of the 1970s, 80s, and early 90s, traveling and ministering all across North America. They released 25 albums and received two Dove Awards. The Cruse's are pioneers in building contemporary christian music as it's known today. Some of Jane's siblings include Cindy Cruse Ratcliff (Senior Worship Leader for Joel Osteen and Lakewood Church), and John Cruse (Campus Pastor at Gateway Church Dallas under Pastor Robert Morris). Pastor Jane is the director of Journey Women and the Senior Worship Director for Journey Worship.
They founded Journey Church on this principal, which is modeled after the ministry of Jesus:
"Life's a Journey, we're not here to see through you, but to help see you through."

At Journey, we believe water baptism is a celebration of your decision to follow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Just as the symbols of the wedding and wedding ring are a declaration of a marriage covenant, water baptism is the outward declaration of the covenant you’ve made with God. As your church, we would like to stand with you as you publicly declare you have made the decision to surrender your life to the Lord.
This event is open to everyone on the third Sunday of the month, and follows our services at each campus. Register by campus below, or on the day of the event.
Our desire is to create an event that is personal and memorable. During this ceremony, a pastor will pray over you and your child as they are dedicated to God and committed to be raised in a christian, bible believing home. Child dedications happen every 1st Sunday of the month. Sign up below!
Our DNA course is a two week class that teaches the heart and core beliefs of our house.
